Welcome to the Best of the East Grand Gala
The 2012 Wineries Unlimited dates have just been announced! Join us March 27-29, 2012 as Wineries Unlimited celebrates its 36th year as the largest and most powerful wine industry event in the eastern US.
This year's conference ran from March 29th to April 1st, 2011 with the trade show taking place on March 30th and 31st. Read about the 2011 Best of the East Gala, an event that truly celebrates the eastern wine industry, below:
Best of the East is the one evening at Wineries Unlimited that allows the eastern industry to shine. The evening starts off with a tasting of Gold medal-winning wines from 2010's International Eastern Wine Competition. A welcome from Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell immediately followed. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner of tender grilled Filet Mignon prepared to perfection, a delicate and flavorful Atlantic Salmon filet with lime cilantro vinaigrette, a delightful Chicken Roulade stuffed with spinach and ricotta cheese, or Portobello Mushroom Tower with goat cheese, spinach, eggplant, and roasted pepper coulis. All items served with iceberg lettuce wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing and crumbled bacon, garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, dinner rolls, a chocolate desert, coffee and tea.
After dinner, our auctioneers "extraordinaire", Art Carmichael of Wine America and Mark Bassel of Bruni Glass Packaging Inc., took center stage. Their spirited and humorous energy made this auction both fun and exciting.Auction proceeds benefit the ASEV/ES Scholarship Program. This is the largest auction of the year that supports ASEV. Over the last three yeas, we've raised nearly $70,000. Your donation will be rewarding for you and for you and for the lucky scholarship recipient.
